Dr. Katie Faris grew up in Wales (UK) and Namibia. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. In her first position after Vet school, Dr. Faris was a mixed-animal practitioner in Vermont in the spirit of James Herriott. Prior to moving to the Upper Valley in 2019, Dr. Faris worked at a small animal practice for 15 years in greater Boston. She has a passion for small animal medicine and surgery, and particularly enjoys working with owners to help them maximize the health and quality of life of their animal companions. Katie and her husband, Jason have four children, a seven-year-old Newfie-Golden mix named Guinness, and eleven chickens. They all love living in the Upper Valley, and all enjoy the many outdoor opportunities that the Upper Valley provides, including running, downhill and cross country skiing, hiking, and gardening.
